Faith Formation: Christian Leadership Institute

The Office of Faith Formation provides Catholics of all ages the chance to participate in programs and experiences that strengthen and renew their connection to the Church. One such program is Christian Leadership Institute (CLI), held annually at Cathedral Camp in East Freetown. A six-day summer program, CLI is designed to prepare teens who demonstrate exceptional maturity levels and leadership skills to use their talents and potential for key roles and responsibilities in their parishes, schools, and communities. Parishes and Catholic high schools across the Diocese of Fall River are encouraged to submit any interested candidates for participation each year.

Mikayla Amadi, a Bishop Stang student and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption parish in New Bedford, took part in CLI in 2018. “Faith Formation is important for the life of the parish because it gets the youth involved with one another, and kind of experience the moment with one another,” she said, adding, “My faith comes alive when I’m surrounded by supportive people (who) are constantly motivating me to be the best version of myself.”

Your gift to the Catholic Appeal provides funding for students like Mikayla to participate in CLI, setting the stage for them to become tomorrow’s leaders of the Church. Your support helps those at all stages of their faith journeys as they deepen their commitment to a life of discipleship and service to Christ and their neighbors in need.
